It’s Important To Show Honour Where Honour Is Due!

9th August 2022

Many people will be celebrating the great dads in their life this father’s day but for some, father’s day takes on a different meaning and brings about mixed emotions. Especially for those who don’t have a dad that set a good example, or was perhaps absent from their life, or maybe like me, your father has passed away and is no longer here, or perhaps you have someone in your life who you look up to like a dad.

Whatever your situation, we are thinking of you this Fathers Day and would just like to encourage you all to celebrate and honour the men who have made a real difference in your life. I love the verse in Romans 12:10 that encourages us to outdo one another in showing honour. That’s because honour is about self giving to build others up.

The word honour means to place esteem, importance, worth, and great respect on another person. when we honour the men in our life this fathers day, we are saying we see them, we love them, and we place great value on them and the positive impact they have had on our lives.

Can I encourage you this father’s day, if there are men in your life that have had a positive impact, then this fathers day is a great opportunity to honour them and let them know what they mean to you. There’s nothing more uplifting than hearing that you’re valued, loved and esteemed. You never know what the men in your life may be going through personally right now, or just how much your words can change their situation and outlook. Telling someone how much they mean to you and placing value and honour on them, can be the encouragement they need to keep going and keep making a difference for their families and for others around them.

To all the dads and men out there who are making a positive difference in the lives of others, we honour you, and we wish you all a very happy Father’s Day.
