Pro Hart Etching (Aquatint with colour roll up) – Grasshopper

Aquatint is an etching process in which Pro Hart was concerned with tone rather than line.  For this technique, a plate is covered with particles of acid-resistant material such as resin and heated to make the particles stick.  The treated plate is then placed in an acid bath, which bites into the copper that is exposed between grains of resin, yielding a composition marked by texture and tone.

This is the last etching of  “Grasshopper” left in stock.

About the Artwork

Insects

Pro began his insect studies relatively early on in his career and the quickly became metaphors for the conditions that Pro and his fellow workers experienced in the mines. This series, more than any other, shows the power that art has in representing social change, and using the landscape to define social identities.

We would love to hear from you.

We absolutely do, when you buy from David Hart you’re buying the real deal! Whether it’s a David Hart painting, or a painting from a Hart family member, you can have 100% confidence that your new artwork is totally authentic.

Every Hart artwork we sell comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and Valuation at its current retail value. This is what is also known as provenance. That means that when you, or your children, should ever decide to sell your Hart artwork, or update its valuation for insurance purposes, you can instantly prove the artworks purchase history, authenticity and value, adding peace of mind to any future purchaser.

We know you just can’t wait, so our artworks and products are carefully packed and dispatched within 48 hours. We make sure we have a large range of Fine Art Reproductions printed and ready, but some editions are made to order and can take between 5 – 10 days in production and framing prior to dispatch.

Our couriers are unable to deliver to PO Boxes as they require a physical street address for delivery. If you live in a remote location then your item may be able to be shipped with Australia Post and a PO Box will be ok.

If your item is an unframed reproduction it will usually be sent in a hard postal tube, we can deliver these to a PO Box if you prefer.  Australia Post generally takes a couple of days longer than our standard courier.

As a guide for the standard courier, if you live in Southeast QLD, your delivery should arrive between 1 – 3 business days from dispatch.  Sydney area is 2 – 7 business days and Melbourne area is 3 – 9 business days.  These delivery times are only a general guide as actual delivery times depend totally on the courier.

The art courier can usually take 1 – 4 weeks for delivery as they work on a rotating Australia-wide schedule of being in particular areas every 2 – 4 weeks.

If you are purchasing a Pro Hart, most of these are re-sales and are located with the current owner.  If the painting is being sent with a standard courier, approximately 1 week needs to be allowed for the painting to be professionally packaged and collected by the courier. If it is being sent with an art courier, it is dependent on when they are next in the area, as mentioned above.

We accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, direct transfer, and cash.  Full payment is required before an order can be processed and dispatched.

We also accept Wizpay, which you can receive your order straight away but take 4 weeks to pay it off in 4 interest free instalments to Wizpay.  Sign up with a snap and checkout in a flash.

We also accept a 3 month lay-by on most original and reproduction artworks.  This requires a 25% deposit and regular monthly payments.

We will happily replace or refund your purchase if it arrives damaged. Any damage needs to be reported within 48 hours of delivery, please click here to email the information along with photographs of the damage as well as the inside and outside of the packaging. Please retain original packaging as we may need to arrange for collection of the damaged or faulty item.

We will organise and pay for the return of the item but it must be returned within 14 days of delivery. In the case where a refund is issued, the refund will be facilitated through your original payment method once the item has been returned.
